In the course you will learn about:

  • Insights from fields like neuroscience and psychology about how human beings function that is vital for social change.

  • The latest social change strategies from other parts of the world

  • Simple tools you can use to change your own mindset and help others to also think differently

  • The course is built around the FIVE hope-based SHIFTS, with each one presenting a different aspect of relevant neuroscience and new strategy tools.

Shift 1 - Fear to Hope

Understanding and working with political emotions

Shift 2 - Problem to Solution

Connecting vision and strategy. Becoming an aspirational organization. Using hope as a smart strategic planning tool. Solutions-based research.

Shift 3 - Against to For

Strategic use of values. Developing narrative strategies based on deep mindset shifts. Embedding values in organizational behavior.

Shift 4 - Threat to Opportunity

Organizing movements for deep cultural change. Re-thinking audience strategy. Brand strategies for creating membership belonging that drives social change.

Shift 5 - Victim to Human

New strategies for storytelling and narrative change. Designing empathy-based activism. Using the “be the narrative” to design new engagement and activism activities. Designing marketing strategies for social change.

APPLICATION PROCESS

3 step application. What do you need to do? 

Please submit your application no later than 23:59 CET Tuesday 16 January 2024. 

STEP 1: 

Record your video application: answer 3 questions in ENGLISH in your video that should not exceed 90 seconds. 

Clearly state your name (and affiliation if applicable).

  1. What’s your vision and how can we help you achieve this?

  2. Why do you think you and your organization/community need a hope-based mindset shift?

  3. What are you bringing to the hope-based community?

Instructions: 

You will need to copy the Youtube link to the application. Youtube privacy settings: select Unlisted so it doesn’t show up on your Youtube channel.

If you don’t have a Google account please email your video to info@unhackdemocracy.eu 

STEP 2: 

Get your CV or Linkedin profile at hand. You will need to write about your relevant professional experience.

STEP 3:

Fill out a quick 10 minute application form, where you will be asked to upload your Youtube link.
