The European Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ECNL) is currently seeking an office manager to join its team from October 2014 (maternity replacement; expected duration of 12 months).

 

ECNL is the leading European research and policy center promoting the strengthening of a supportive legal environment for civil society, based in Budapest. It develops expertise and builds capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) and public authorities on policy and legal issues affecting CSOs and their participation in public life. Main duties and responsibilities include:

 

Office/Administrative:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the office and communications with service providers;

  • Assist Finance Manager with petty cash and banking transactions, check travel authorizations and reports, compile supporting documents for ECNL’s financial reports;

  • Assist staff in contractual procedures with service providers and consultants, draft contracts, assist with procurement, as requested;

  • Handle ECNL registry-issues and liaison with board members, handle preparation for board meetings;

 

Other:

  • Assist with web maintenance and development of online profile;

  • Translate documents into English / Hungarian;

  • Provide general administrative support to Executive Director;

  • Organize conferences, trainings and study tours, arrange travel for program staff.

  • Provide program assistance to staff, assist legal staff with research, as requested;

  • Monitor institutional and program funding opportunities;

  • Assist in project proposal preparation;

  • Assist with other project tasks, as assigned.

 

Required qualifications:

  • University degree;

  • Hungarian and English language proficiency;

  • More than 3 full years of comparable professional experience in office administration;

  • Good organizational and communication skills;

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, internet applications);

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, perform under pressure and work both in a team and independently.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit sector and international work environment is an advantage.
