IIE is partnering with New York University (NYU) to provide global outreach and screening services to identify highly talented undergraduates from around the world who will attend NYU’s new portal campus in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The partnership is centrally-coordinated out of the IIE/NY Headquarters Office and works with a team of outreach staff who are based in seven of IIE’s International Offices: Latin America, Europe, Russia, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, India, and Thailand.

Purpose of Position:

The Outreach Officer will conduct outreach and admissions activities for the NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) initiative within a designated world region and countries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Conducting outreach/admissions activities
  • Organizing and attending outreach/admissions events
  • Application advising
  • Reporting, financial and other responsibilities

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

  1. Undergraduate degree, minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in a professional environment, 3 years preferred. Experience with university administration, high school population and their parents, study abroad, scholarship management, or relevant area.
  2. Ability to travel extensively within designated world region, and to the U.S. and the UAE.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010, and excellent proficiency with technology, especially word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
  4. Website experience, including use of web-based project management programs and social networking technology a plus.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  6. Experience arranging international travel and events.
  7. Strong Internet research, telephone, writing, phone, and email communication skills required.
  8. International experience, perspective and cross-cultural sensitivity.
  9. Must exhibit maturity and be comfortable in a client-centered office and have the ability to use diplomacy in difficult situations.
  10. Willingness to work flexible and long hours, particularly to assist with meeting critical program deadlines and in support of program events.
  11. Demonstrates creativity and is able to suggest innovative yet practical solutions to new challenges.
  12. Able to work as a team player – contributes to the team, as well as handles tasks assigned by more than one supervisor.
  13. Ability to focus on detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  14. Strong English-language skills. Knowledge of one or more European languages will be considered favorably.
