Duty Station: IOM Budapest, Hungary
Position Title: Reintegration Assistant
Type of Appointment: 9-months with a possibility of extension
Classification: Grade Equivalent G III (UN salary scale for Hungary)
Estimated Starting Date: as soon as possible
General functions: Under the overall management of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the Reintegration Assistant is responsible for the following:
- Provide general support in coordinating return and reintegration assistance to the Hungarian beneficiaries of the Canadian Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration programme (CAVRR)
- Help in maintaining regular liaison with beneficiaries and advise them on the eligibility and types of reintegration assistance
- Assist in the coordination with the IOM office in Canada, donors, partners and service providers as required
- Ensure timely submission of Inception and Reintegration Reports and Service Fee Forms to the Donor together with supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate records and statistics of CAVRR movements
- Assist the Operations Department regarding the arrival assistance to CAVRR beneficiaries
- Handle the phone queries for CAVRR beneficiaries
- Provide support to the Admin & Finance Dept as requested; assist in handling the procurement process of goods and services as pertaining to the reintegration assistance
- Undertake duty travel related to programme implementation if required
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the supervisors.
Desirable Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
a) High school diploma or equivalent b) At least three years of relevant professional experience c) familiarity with migration issues d) social work or casework experience is an advantage
Competencies: a) Excellent written and oral communication skills b) Proven capacity to handle and prioritize work in an efficient and timely manner c) A high level of computer literacy) d) Proven track record to work independently and good planning and organizational skills, e) outgoing, flexible personality with a strong service oriented attitude f) Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues and clients from varied cultures and professional backgrounds
Languages: l) Very good command of both English and Hungarian.
