We are currently looking for a Head of Public Funding and EU Programs at Transparency International Hungary

Main functions:

  1. Monitoring and assessing Hungarian public procurement and European Union funds management legislation and practice with regard to European Union standards
  2. Leading TI Hungary’s programs related to public procurement, state funding and European Union funds management.

Starting date: As soon as possible

Duration: Indefinite duration

Further responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage anti-corruption monitoring and advocacy tools in the fields of public funding, public procurement and EU funds management with special regards to Integrity Pacts developed earlier by TI
  • Manage and coordinate TI Hungary’s relations with stakeholders in the above domains
  • Write and review policy papers and draft press releases in the above domains
  • Conduct conferences, workshops and trainings 
  • Manage national and international research projects

Requirements for the position:

  • A degree preferably in law (not excluding those who have a degree in economics)
  • Minimum five years’ related work experience in one of the further fields: public procurement, public funding, European Union funds management
  • A profound and up-to-date knowledge of and expertise in Hungarian and EU regulation and policies related to public funding with special regards to public procurement and EU funds management
  • Good project management skills which include team-working and leadership abilities
  • Good networking and communication capacities
  • Fluency in Hungarian and English (spoken, written)
  • Good writing skills
  • Ability to form opinion, take responsibility and work independently to tight deadlines
  • Open to new challenges and ready to learn
  • Working knowledge of basic IT skills: MS Office (word, excel, power point), social media

An advantage for candidates:

  • A degree both in law and in economics
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in EU studies, sociology, political science or public administration
  • Experience in anti-corruption field and/or business integrity
  • Professional law exam
  • Knowledge of empirical research methods related to this field and ability to work with large datasets
  • Experience in and ability of the occasional representation of an organisation in the media
